The Geology General Development Fund provides support for the geology program within the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science.
The Geology Field Camp Scholarship Fund provides much needed support for students accepted into or currently enrolled in the program in geology within the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science. Specifically, funds shall be used for costs associated with the program in geology's Field School requirement. In the event that Field School is no longer offered or a required course, funds shall be used for undergraduate and graduate student support within the program in geology. The donors will be notified in advance of any change of the original purpose of the fund.
The James B. Cowart Graduate Fellowship Endowed Fund records deferred and current gifts. This fund will receive the proceeds from a bequest. The proceeds will be used to create an endowment to provide support for graduate students whose scholarly activity is focused in geological studies, and serve as a lasting tribute to the vision and commitment of James B. Cowart.
The John W. & Ellen M. Winchester Fund for Excellence provides support for undergraduate and graduate students studying earth, ocean, and atmospheric geochemistry. Funds can be used for, but are not limited to: travel to conferences, graduate fellowships, equipment purchasing, guest lectures and other needs that directly impact students as determined by an advisory committee appointed by the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science chairperson.
The T. N. Krishnamurti Fund for Excellence provides support for faculty and student travel within the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science. Funds may be used for, but not limited to, travel expenses and registration fees for conferences and seminars and travel related to research.
The Werner A. and Shirley B. Baum Endowed Professorship supports accomplished scholars in the field of meteorology.
The William K. Dewar Endowed Professorship supports an expert in the field of physical oceanography whose research and teaching are exemplary. The endowed professorship will provide supplemental funding to support their research and/or teaching, as well as operational and programmatic expenses as determined by the chair of the Department of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science.
